Lido Dine-Around: Reposite Members Taste the Heart of Harlem
Reposite gets revved up through curating unique experiences and building lasting partnerships. For our local New York City members, we hosted an evening in Harlem to pair our planners with a supplier we can’t get enough of — the Lido Group.
Serena Bass, Executive Chef of the Lido Group, started her catering company when a friend asked her to cater a last-minute dinner for Andy Warhol and 60 guests. Her successful career led her to the Lido Group in Harlem which has three partner restaurants: Bixi, Lido, and The Fox. Through her culinary lens and interior design, each space offers a completely different experience, giving those dining with them a range of options for their plans. Our members embarked on the Lido Dine-Around to check out each of the restaurants and experience the vibrant culinary culture of Harlem.
Lido Group’s restaurants are all located within walking distance of the iconic Apollo Theater, which made for a perfect start point for the Lido Dine-Around. The evening began with a private tour of the Apollo Theater, led by the renowned Mr. Apollo himself. He shared his story and the rich history of the theater dating back to the 1960s. It was here that the “Godfather of Soul,” James Brown, recorded his groundbreaking live album “Live at the Apollo” in 1962, cementing the venue’s place in music history. The group also had access to exclusive spaces inside the theater, and even had an opportunity to perform on one of the stages for a “mini amateur night.”
After their first Apollo appearance, our members were welcomed by The Lido Group team at their first restaurant stop of the evening, Lido Group’s Asian-inspired restaurant, Bixi. Members mingled over 2nd Planet Cocktails, a concoction of Japanese Whiskey and passionfruit, and got to explore the space, which offers both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as fire pits. Bixi is a great option for tour groups, birthday parties and large events especially coming into the warmer months!
Next up was Lido, the group’s original restaurant that feels like you’re in the home of a close Italian friend. The restaurant is named after Lido di Venezia, the famous beach in Italy, the playground of film stars, fashion icons and The Venice Film Festival. True to its name attendees enjoyed meatballs, garlic bread, and truffle gnocchi fit for a beachside dinner in Europe, or right in the heart of Harlem. It has a celebratory ambiance and new cabanas that offer semi private dining or 95 cap space for a large group space!
Last but not least was The Fox, the group’s sports bar with outdoor games and plenty of TVs to enjoy a game. Planners that have requests for these types of gatherings should put The Fox at the top of their list as an option for tons of sporting events in the future.
Throughout the evening members were able to connect with the Lido team who provided amazing insights and service at each of their spaces. Members walked away with new connections and ideas for their upcoming events, and The Lido Group gained new clients. In fact, the group earned a 40 person tour group booking in the weeks following our visit!
This type of interaction is what Reposite is ALL about and members can form these relationships within the platform — right now!
