In honor of women’s history month, Blace and Reposite, two women-founded companies, teamed up to host a lively evening of fun and networking, toasting to their incredible female colleagues in the hospitality industry. Headlined by the motto “Empowered women empower women”, Reposite and Blace founders, Alexa Berube and Robin Fischer organized the event to encourage networking between women in the industry and showcase their best roster of female-founded partners.
Set in one of Blace’s most unique event venues, The Mailroom, a speakeasy-style space located in Wall Street building’s former mailroom, the sold-out event treated guests to a night of cocktails, dance performances, and networking. Guests were welcomed with women’s-history-month-themed cocktails, light bites from Herb-n-Peach, and AV and lighting from Premier Innovations. Afterward, Alexa and Robin stepped onstage to welcome everyone and host a short workshop with conversation starters from creative supplier 28 Muses.
Attendees had the opportunity to mingle within the walls of The Mailroom’s gilded mailboxes with floral arrangements from Big Apple Florist as the backdrop. Adding to the glitz were multiple feathered and costumed dance performances from The Painted Ladies, an NYC-based jazz and burlesque dance troupe led by acclaimed choreographer Jenny Rocha. Photographer Patricia Koo documented the evening. Before leaving, guests were treated to tote bags emblazoned with the event’s motto provided by Aslant Print Lab and filled with swag from all sponsors.
In addition to celebrating the women that have been part of their startup journey, this event was a very special opportunity for Reposite co-founders, Alexa and Heather, to help build stronger professional networks for other female owned businesses in the industry.
As two fledgling entrepreneurs coming from the tech industry, Alexa and Heather experienced firsthand the challenges of building connections as newcomers to the hospitality industry. After years of working with professional planners through their first venture together — Nowaday, a vintage car tour & mixology experience in New York City, they leveraged their hard-earned connections to pivot their business to Reposite, a two-sided marketplace aimed at streamlining connections between group travel planners and suppliers.
While launching Nowaday, the two spent a lot of time, money and resources on discovering new partners and learning how to make those relationships profitable. Ultimately, they were in search of a tool that would enable them to seamlessly connect with professional planners, exchange quotes & proposals, and keep track of everything in one place. They couldn’t find a solution so they decided to build it themselves.
Three short years later, and Reposite’s supplier base has grown to over 20,000 supplier offerings spanning everything from hotels and restaurants to venues and entertainment. Alexa and Heather are extremely proud of their team and their vendor partners and hope to continue their mission of transforming relationship-building in the group travel industry.
